Silk satin

A tight weave of mulberry silk with a soft sheen on the face and a matte back. It is warm in winter and cool in summer, and it takes colour deeply. Ours is a heavier weight than most, so it drapes rather than clings.

Used for slips, robes, bra cups and anywhere it touches skin all day.

Matte silk satin

The same silk, finished so the face is matte. Black stays black, with no shine where there shouldn't be any.

Used across the black collection, and for the blindfold.

Washed silk

Silk that has been washed before it is cut, so it arrives already soft and never stiffens. Nothing scratches, and it only improves with wear.

Used for the gloves and the hair tie.

Stretch silk

Silk knitted with a little elastane so it moves with the body and recovers. It is what makes a body wear as a top and a camisole stay put under a blazer.

Corded lace

A leavers-style lace with a raised cord that outlines the pattern. It is sharp to look at and soft to wear, because we line it where it meets skin.

Used across the ink, plum and storm blue collection.

Tulle

A fine, sheer net. Skin-tone tulle disappears under a white shirt; sheer black tulle is meant to be seen through. Both have a bonded edge so there is no elastic to show or dig.
